What We Do

CapStone Solutions, Inc. is a proven service provider for the wireless and energy industries.  We offer turnkey design, construction, upgrade and conversion services for complex network and alternative energy infrastructure.

Building CapStone Wireless

CapStone was formed by Jason McEvers in 2003 to meet the need for results-oriented, hands on technical consulting and project management. With an engineering background and ten years’ experience with Sprint and Sprint networking partner, Ubiquitel PCS, Jason brought unique operational and technical skills to large-scale wireless network projects.

After leading several major network deployments and upgrade projects for clients including Cingular and AT&T, Jason joined forces with Matt Moreland in 2006. Matt’s experience in wireless construction program management enabled them to expand their scope of integrated services and build a larger client base.

Together they led CapStone teams to perform highly successful projects including turnkey implementation for hundreds of new build sites, an 1,800+ site network integration across multiple states, and numerous network upgrades and conversions including nationwide LBS and 4G projects. Today they continue serving Tier 1 carriers, power holding companies, regional project developers and global system integrators.

An Alternative Energy Leader

In 2007, CapStone began conducting in-depth research into alternative energy technologies.  In 2008, they founded an energy practice to meet emerging opportunities in wind, solar and Smart Grid deployments.

Since 2008, CapStone has become a recognized leader in innovation and design for alternative energy solutions, and their expertise was sought by the Department of Energy to contribute to the Federal Government’s “20% by 2030” Plan.

CapStone’s alternative energy project teams are among the most experienced and successful in the industry.  In partnership with meteorologist and current AMA Board Member Maureen McCann, they provide advanced, site-specific wind and solar resource evaluation.

Together, they have performed numerous load analyses, site surveys and feasibility studies. CapStone teams have completed both on and off grid energy projects, including multiple turnkey conversions of off-grid generator powered infrastructure into both solar and hybrid powered sites. Their wind projects include troubleshooting analysis for underperfoming sites, wind data collection services, efficiency evaluation and testing for turbine wing designs and turbine deployment.

CapStone Solutions is a privately held firm based in Redmond, Washington.

Leadership Team
Jason McEvers – President

Jason built CapStone Solutions from a single-man consultancy in 2003. In addition to providing first-class service to the major wireless carriers, he has advised renewable energy startups including Wind Pole Ventures. He seeks to bring his decade-long engineering and management experience with Sprint to the table in building out the nation’s Smart Grid. An active member of the American Wind Energy Association, Jason is keenly interested in wind power, solar panels and power grid interconnection. Jason’s experience in wireless deployments and maintenance provides an excellent foundation for wind, solar, and Smart Grid projects.

Matt Moreland – Operations Principal

Matt handles operations in the field, frequently working extended assignments with CapStone’s clients. His background in switching center design and tower construction with The Walter Group and Wireless Facilities, Inc. provides him with excellent experience in managing cell tower operations and maintenance for CapStone’s larger client companies. Matt takes senior management intentions and directives and makes them happen in the field, often turning vague ideas and wish lists into reality. This innate ability to turn plans into producing assets is critical for success in the new fields of Smart Grid and renewable energy. Matt speaks Spanish and has extensive Latin American experience.

David Nicol – Solar Division Director

David directs Capstone’s Solar Division, designing solar solutions for a diverse range of clients and circumstances. Committed to supporting and expanding the use of solar power, he served 4 years as President of Solar Washington and for 3 years on a U.N. Micro Grid Committee. This mixed nonprofit/for profit background supports Capstone's goal of growing a sustainable business by building sustainable energy solutions. Additionally, David's 20 years of experience working in rural Alaska has prepared him to guide projects to successful completions, finding creative solutions to unpredictable problems in harsh environments and remote areas with limited resources.

Chris Black – Principal Electrician

Chris supervises and manages all electrical operations for Capstone Solutions, both in and out of the field. Chris’s dedication as an electrician to the Air National guard for the past 8 years has strengthen his background with electrical systems in Asia, Europe, and throughout North America. Chris is licensed in 8 states and has a well-rounded background as an electrician in both the commercial and industrial field. Chris’s experience and expertise in off grid system implementation, utility coordination and design strengths, is an indispensable resource to both the electrical and solar industry.

Samuel Wright – RF & Tower Services Manager

Sam joined the team in 2013 charged with getting the Tower & RF division off the ground. The rapid growth of his team has been the highlight of his career.  Sam got his start in the tower industry nearly twenty years ago and credits his years of hands-on field experience with helping him be an effective leader today. He serves as the liaison between his crews of hardworking tower technicians and foreman’s and the clients Capstone serves. Sam strives to make himself available to each client, day and night. To complete projects to the satisfaction of his clients is an ongoing priority. He has worked on projects across the country including Alaska, Hawaii, and Michigan but considers Washington home.
